A delegation from the Lithuanian Police Union paid EuroCOP a visit on June 12th to inform themselves about how the European Confederation of Police works.
“We were very happy with the valuable information about EuroCOP we have received here”, Saulius Dziautas, the President of Lithuanian Police Union LPTU (Lietuvos VRS Respublikiné Profesiné Sajvisited), said after the meeting.
“We will now discuss matters further with our national board in Lithuania.”
The Lithuanian delegation was also received by colleagues from the Police Union in Luxembourg, SNPGL, who arranged a visit to the headquarters of the criminal police in Luxembourg.
Albert Ressel, President of SNPGL was happy to meet the international colleagues.
“For us this is a welcomed opportunity to meet with colleagues from Lithuania and to discuss issues affecting all of us together.”
The Lithuanian delegation, also consisting of Vice President Algimantas Laukaitis, was received by EuroCOP’s Head of Office Jan Velleman.
EuroCOP President Heinz Kiefer was on location at a GdP Conference in Germany but was pleased with the outcome.
“I am very impressed by the achievements of LPTU in the past years in Lithuania. Their interest in EuroCOP is a clear signal for the growing importance of EuroCOP as the most important exchange forum for police unions and staff organisations in Europe. We look forward to intensifying our contacts in the future.”
