EuroCOP 2nd Ordinary Congress

Congress not far away

Motions to improve the European cooperation in the area of Justice and Home Affairs and an action plan to establish "A Social Europe for the Police."

These are some of the items on the agenda for EuroCOP's 2nd Ordinary Congress.

The Congress will take place on November 5-7, 2007 in Brussels, also known as "The Capital of the European Union".

A Social Europe for the Police is just one of the four most important goals for EuroCOP for the upcoming four years. Other goals are Internal Security in the European Union, Solidarity and Network building and Safety for the
Police.

Motions asking for developing European minimum standards on information and consultation rights are likely to stir up a heated debate. 

Other motions include fight against international terrorism and further improvement of the cooperation on Justice and Home Affairs' issues.

On the speaker's list EuroCOP will host no other than Franco Frattini, Commissioner of Freedom, Security and Justice. 

A meeting with the Mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans, is planned including a visit to the Atomium.
