Health and Safety police colleagues meet to discuss best practice experiences

Health and Safety Conference, Northern Ireland
EuroCOP/PFNI Event
October 20 - October 22, 2009

For the first time EuroCOP will co-organize a Health and Safety Conference, together with its Northern Irish member organisation PFNI. It takes place on October 20 - October 22. Planned items on the agenda will be the pan-European perspective on health and safety issues with a possibility for the participants to exchange best practises and discuss case studies.

For the Northern-Irish it is not the first time this conference is being organized. However, it is the first time that the conference is co-organized with EuroCOP. The reason for this is the presence of the EuroCOP Health&Safety Subcommittee, which was set up in March 2008.

The conference will have two parts. One where the EuroCOP Health and Safety Network will have a chance to meet and discuss case studies and best practises in small groups. The network will also have a chance to get a hands-on idea what the situation looks like for the police in Northern Ireland. An excursion is planned in the afternoon for the participants.

The other part is the official programme of the head organizer PFNI, which is yet to be finalized, but will be dealing with risk assessment.

The EuroCOP Subcommittee Delegate, Stephen McCann, is also the Secretary of PFNI and he has been one of the heads behind this event.
"We are very pleased that we can enlarge this Conference to add the pan-European perspective on the Health and Safety issues in the police," he said.
"EuroCOP is being very hands-on co-organizing a conference such as this one and we hope it will be highly appreciated by our colleagues.""
